Our Story

An American beginning. A Dominican soul.

My story with Italian Water Ice began in the United States—a frozen treat unlike anything else. Not a slushy. Not ice cream. Just a dream of cold goodness bursting with ultra-refreshing flavors.

That dream found a new home in Higüey, República Dominicana, where the days are hot, the fruit is natural, and something deliciously refreshing always feels right.

They call me Papi. And this is Papi’s Island Ice Co.

We make our Italian Water Ice with natural fruit—no syrups, dyes or colorants—and our secret all-natural sweetener. Every spoonful brings a little island happiness, made for the young and the young at heart.
